We’ve all heard the saying: Time is money. When it comes to production, that statement couldn’t be more true. Perfection and speed are essential factors that every producer must consider.
The pursuit of perfection versus the need for speed is a crucial consideration for those who always strive to give their best and perform at their peak. Perfectionists often find time to be their biggest challenge, as they constantly identify aspects of their work they are not entirely satisfied with. Consequently, they repeatedly revise their completed tasks, whether it’s a newspaper article, a 3D-designed piece, a part, or anything else.
However, it is essential to recognize that it’s acceptable to deliver work that is not entirely perfect or 100 percent flawless. The primary objective is to ensure the product functions at a satisfactory level, even if it isn’t philosophically perfect. This is an arduous task for those who pursue perfection at all costs. They continuously seek to improve the finished product, which might seem ideal to others, thus taking an extended amount of time to complete it.
From the perspective of a perfectionist, work that doesn’t strive for absolute flawlessness appears rough and superficial. Yet, individuals who adopt a more superficial approach can often produce the required product, service, or process more swiftly.
Why is this distinction important? Perfectionists take significantly longer to produce a working product, while those who do not aim for perfect Turkish quality, and instead focus on quantity, can quickly generate a wide array of outputs. Finding a balance between these two approaches is essential for efficiency and productivity.
